Barefoot® Lets Compare: DryTex™ vs VegiTex®

With the introduction of our new VegiTex product line, we’ve received many questions about how it compares to our well-known DryTex saddles.

We’d love to clarify.

Same foundation — Refined Feel

The artificial leather used in both DryTex and VegiTex is chemically identical. The difference lies in the refinement of the material.

• DryTex features a visible and tactile texture, offering a structured, grippy surface.

• VegiTex feels noticeably smoother and softer to the touch, with a refined finish.

This refinement has allowed us to do something new:
We can now manufacture fenders for models such as the Arizona using VegiTex — something not possible with DryTex.

What makes it Vegan?

Our standard DryTex saddles are made from artificial leather but include leather girth straps, which means they are not completely vegan as standard.

However, DryTex models can be ordered as a special VEGAN version (equipped with biothane girth straps, this can take around 6-12 weeks to be ordered and delivered. 

The new VegiTex line, on the other hand, is completely vegan as standard.

It’s a matter of preference

Ultimately, choosing between DryTex and VegiTex comes down to personal preference:

• Prefer a textured, structured feel? DryTex may be your choice.

• Prefer a smoother, softer surface? VegiTex could be perfect for you.

And of course, our leather saddles remain unmatched in terms of natural sustainability and craftsmanship.
