The 7 CLINICS with Buck Brannaman project features over 10 hours of incredible, never-before-seen footage from the making of the award-winning feature film documentary BUCK — the story of one man’s quest to help horses with ” people problems” lauded by critics and audiences alike. 7 CLINICS allows riders, trainers, and horse lovers everywhere to travel with Buck from coast to coast while learning his techniques and absorbing countless words of wisdom along the way. This project came about when the producers saw how much footage was left on the “cutting room floor”, and they realized they could bring Buck’s message to a large audience of horse enthusiasts.
“The biggest challenge in creating the documentary BUCK was taking over 300 hours of footage and cutting it down to 88 minutes,” says filmmaker Cindy Meehl. “We still hear audiences saying they didn’t want the film to end – they want more Buck!”
“Learn to understand your horse with the help of some Western wisdom and discover how he really sees the world… whether you’ve got specific issues you’d like to address, or simply want to improve your relationship and bond with your horse, you’ve nothing to lose. Give it a go, who knows what you could achieve.” – Your Horse
Buck Brannaman, known to many as the inspiration behind the novel and the feature film The Horse Whisperer, travels extensively throughout the country and the world each year, teaching an approach to training and riding horses that he learned from renowned horsemen Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt. This approach has inspired and revolutionized the equestrian world, and Brannaman’s story, shared in the hit 2011 documentary BUCK, has extended the reach of his wisdom far into the mainstream (brannaman.com).
Cindy Meehl met Buck Brannaman at one of his clinics in 2003. Coming from an artistic background of fine art and fashion design in New York City, she felt that the best way to communicate the story of Buck Brannaman would be through film. She founded Cedar Creek Productions, LLC, in 2008 in order to make the feature film BUCK, which has been hailed by audiences and critics around the world for its content and delivery. BUCK won the Audience Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and was shortlisted for the 2011 Academy Awards. Meehl lives in Connecticut with her husband, writer Brian Meehl, two daughters, four dogs, and two horses (cedarcreekmedia.com).
